| Medical Cybernetics was established to explore specific aspects of the potential for electronic computational capacity to extend human capability in direct computer control of medical procedures. These conceptual issues are elaborated under the heading of Philosophy. |
| The company is continuing the design and development work that was begun with consideration of medical treatment in the environment, and zero-gravity of space, and the subsequent application of concepts derived from consideration of the associated issues to design and development of an automated artificial kidney. Pertinent updates will be presented, when appropriate, under the Projects heading. |
| The Commentary heading opens a forum on health care issues, based entirely the opinions and experiences of the authors. The comments are selected as appropriate "feed-back", though this is, unfortunately, not cybernetic control, as that would require that the information directly provide input to initiate reassessment of system function. |
